Ph.D. student Kevin Kircher in Prof. Zhang's lab wins 'Best Presentation in Session' award

PhD student Kevin Kircher wins 'Best Presentation in Session' award at the American Control Conference for his talk "Economic Model Predictive Control of Thermal Storage for Demand Response".

The 2015 American Control Conference was held in Chicago from July 1 to 3.  The ACC is internationally recognized as a premier scientific and engineering conference dedicated to the advancement of control theory and practice.  http://acc2015.a2c2.org/

Kircher is a PhD student in Max Zhang's Energy and Environment Research Lab, and in the Engineering and Economics of Electricity Research Group.  He works on estimation and control algorithms for stochastic systems, with applications at the edge of the power grid.
