Olivier Desjardins has received from the Combustion Institute the 2011 Distinguished Paper Award for Spray & Droplet Combustion. This was awarded for the paper "Analysis of three-dimensional n-heptane spray flames in a model swirling combustor", co-authored by K. Luo, M. Pai, H. Pitsch and O. Desjardins, which was judged to be the best paper presented at the Colloquium on Spray & Droplet Combustion at the 33rd International Symposium on Combustion held in Beijing.
