Congratulations to Hadas Ritz, MAE Lecturer for being a recipient of the 2013 Excellence in Teaching Award.  Ritz was honored with the 2013 Ralph S. Watts ’72 Excellence in Teaching Award.  Prior to joining the Cornell she received her BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  She came to Cornell in 2001 as one of Prof. Paul Dawson’s PhD students.  Hadas’ dissertation research involved finite element modeling of neutron diffraction experiments, focusing on stress distributions within metal samples.  Her Cornell degrees are MS 2005 and PhD 2008.

Since 2009 she has focused on teaching and has taught a variety of courses at Cornell, including Introduction to Mechanical Engineering, Thermodynamics, Dynamics, Calculus, and Spacecraft Engineering.

Hadas states, “What I'd really like to be teaching is ENGRD2020, MAE 2120, MAE 3250, but I've not yet had the opportunity to teach any of those.”
