12:00 to 1:00 – Welcome Lunch and Sibley Directors discuss the future and past of Mechanical Engineering at Cornell

  • Discussion on the future and past of Mechanical Engineering at Cornell with former Directors of the Sibley School Professors David Erickson, Mark Campbell, Alan Zehnder, Lance Collins, Sidney Leibovich, Al George, David Caughey, Frank Moon.  Hosted by Dean Lynden Archer.
  • Lunch served for attendees.

1:00 to 1:30 – Opening Ceremony and Welcoming

2:30 – 4:00 - Panel Discussion with Prominent Alumni: Future of Space and Aerospace

The department of mechanical and aerospace engineering is celebrating the 150th anniversary of mechanical engineering at Cornell – which we are calling Sibley 150.  As part of this celebration we are holding a panel on the future of “space innovation and exploration” which will be hosted Professor Elaine Petro, and feature MLS Chief Engineer from NASA Swati Mohan ’04, VP Starship Engineering at SpaceX Bill Riley ’99, and Steven J. Fujikawa Professor Mason Peck.  Each panelist will give a “TED talk” style talk in advance of the panel discussion on the topic.

4:00 – 5:30 – Reception for all guests, faculty, students, alumni and Corporate Networking Event

  • Sibley 150 Awards Announced
  • Parallel Corporate Networking Event
  • Remarks from Students – What is their vision of the next 150 years of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

6:00 - Sibley 150 Dinner (Invitation only due to space)
