Jason Flahie, B.S,, M.E. ’16; Rannie Dong, B.S., M.E. ‘17

Jason Flahie has served as president of the Cornell Chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015.  He also served as the treasurer for ASME in the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014.  Jason’s strong leadership skills and commitment to the Mechanical Engineering community is apparent by the numerous events organized and hosted by the ASME Executive Board members this year. These events ranged from providing presentations from potential employers, promoting community during social events and post-prelim cookie soirées, to representing MechEs at numerous engineering events.

Jason grew up in the Los Angeles area and has found the winters in Ithaca invigorating.  He is the last to give up shorts in the fall and the first to sport them in the spring.

Jason is currently a first-semester senior and anticipates graduating with his B.S., MechE Degree after completing the Fall 2015 semester. He will also complete the Dyson Business Minor for Engineers in the Fall 2015.  His main area of interest is Dynamics and Controls and he intends to focus on Mechatronics in graduate school.  Jason’s ultimate career goal is to manage an engineering business.
