Directly follows the University Commencement Ceremony at Schoellkopf Stadium

STATLER AUDITORIUM
Doors close at 12:15
 
Ceremony duration:  approximately one hour 
Refreshments to follow in the Statler directly after the ceremony

These students may participate in both the University ceremony in December 2007 and the University/Sibley Commencement ceremonies in May. Students who have completed their degree requirements in December are awarded a January 2008 degree. Sibley School graduate and undergraduate students who are earning their degree in January 2008 are invited to join faculty for a celebratory dinner in Upson Lounge on December 3, 2007 from 5-7pm

B.S., Mechanical Engineering Class of 2008

Class 2006

Students (Graduate and Undergraduate):
  • Each student is awarded three guest tickets--graduating students will not need a ticket for their own seat.   
  • Students should wear their academic regalia to the Statler Auditorium.
  • Students will be assigned seats in the middle rows of the Statler Auditorium in the order in which they will be called-up on stage (names will be taped to the back of the seat). Students need to be seated by 12:10 in the Statler Auditorium.  M.Eng. May 2008 degree recipients who also earned a B.S., M.E. January 2008 degree will be called on to the stage once as an M.Eng. recipient.    
  • Tickets will be available for pick-up mid-May.  Undergrads - 108 Upson; Graduates - 107 Upson.  Tickets will be mailed to students who are not on Campus. 

    Guests:
  • Guests must have a valid ticket to enter the auditorium; requests for special seating must be made in advance and special tickets will be issued for these requests.  Students will receive instructions for special requests. 
  • Guests should be seated by 12:15. 
  • In accordance with New York State fire codes, all audience members must be seated.  Standing in the aisles, exits, and the back of the auditorium is prohibited.
  • Bottled water will be provided upon entrance to the Statler and refreshments will be available directly after the ceremony. Since food will not be available before 1:30 p.m., if you require food before this time, please bring something to eat prior to entering the auditorium. Only bottled water is allowed inside the auditorium.
  • Please remain in your seats during the Ceremony; a professional photographer will be taking a picture as each graduate/award recipient is congratulated on stage. Ordering and payment arrangements will be made directly with the photographer. 
  • Guests without tickets are welcome to wait in the Student Lounge area on the first floor of the Statler during the  M&AE ceremony. 
  • Refreshments immediately following the ceremony will be served in The Park Atrium in the Beck Center.  Ushers will be available to direct guests and graduating students to this area.  Seating is available in the student lounge area, first floor. 

Severe Weather Procedure (thunder/lightening):
In case of severe weather, graduating students should be seated in the Statler Auditorium  by 3:20 p.m.; doors will close at 3:30 and proceed as outlined above.
