Miller, Bernier, Park, Pilchak, Glavicic Receive 2009 ASM Howe Medal
Professor Matt Miller, along with lead author Joel Bernier and Co-Authors J.S. Park, A.L. Pilchak and M.G Glavicic has been selected to receive the ASM Henry Marion Howe Medal for 2009 for their paper entitled, “Measuring Stress Distributions in Ti-6Al-4V Using Synchrotron X-Ray Diffraction.” The paper is based on research performed for the Office of Naval Research D3D-Structural Materials Program.
The ASM Henry Marion Howe Medal is awarded in memory of Dr. Henry Marion Howe, a distinguished teacher, writer, metallurgist and consultant, to honor the authors whose paper has been selected as the best of those published in a specific volume of Metallurgical and Materials Transactions. It was first awarded in 1922.
