Prof. Pope awarded 2009 APS Fluid Dynamics Prize
Professor Stephen Pope, the Sibley College Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, is the recipient of the 2009 Fluid Dynamics Prize from the American Physical Society. This is the highest honor awarded by APS in fluid dynamics in recognition of outstanding achievements over a career. The citation reads: "For seminal contributions to the understanding and prediction of turbulent phenomena, especially the development of the PDF approach for turbulent reacting flows." Prof. Pope will present the Otto Laporte lecture at the upcoming annual meeting of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics meeting in November, and will be presented with the prize at that meeting.
