The
Kinematic Models for Design Digital Library (KMODDL) project is creating a digital
library of mechanical models for teaching and exploring the principles of kinematics, and for
archival and preservation purposes. The collection brings together still and
navigable moving images of rare 19th century kinematic models, historical and
contemporary documents, computer simulations, sample teaching modules, and
downloadable 3D-printable STL models for functional rapid prototyping. Take
a tour of this library.

You can even print 3D copies of some machines in your own 3D Printer, or download a simulator and explore your own creations.
